Ibarionex Perello & Olaf Sztaba

Join photographic visionaries Ibarionex and Olaf, one of the most respected educators in the industry in this one-time, special workshop event. Ibarionex and Olaf will work closely with you to translate your vision into unique and impactful imagery. They will share their approach to recognizing and making photographs rooted in an awareness of seeing: observing light and shadow, line and shape, colour and gesture. This is not just another workshop, but a one-time opportunity to learn from two people for whom photography is not just a vocation, but an obsession.

Friday, 4:00PM – 8:00PM

The workshop starts on Friday afternoon with a get-to-know-you session, organisational matters, and ethical and personal aspects of street photography. Then Ibarionex and Olaf dive into the workshop program sharing their approaches. We cover enough material to prepare you for the next day’s shooting.

Saturday, 9:30AM – 5:30PM

We start the day shooting on the streets of Vancouver. We begin by learning how to see and craft imagery as it happens in front of us. During the day we work together, only later splitting into two groups led by Ibarionex and Olaf. From 1:00PM to 3:00PM we have a classroom session when we discuss the day’s progress and then continue with the program. We finish the day shooting on the streets of Vancouver.

Sunday, 9:30AM – 5:30PM

On Sunday, we perfect our technique and shoot most of the day with frequent breaks for discussion and honest, image-based evaluation. The workshop concludes late Sunday afternoon in the classroom with an “I did it” photo extravaganza and a personal one-on-one photo chat. Each participant receives feedback and a personal photographic plan from both Ibarionex and Olaf.

The full payment of US $1,500 is required at the time of registration.
